Guidelines for editors
Article structure
- Headline: specific and to the point — who, what, where ("Band X christens record in Buena Vista"), no clickbait.
- Perex: 2-3 sentences that summarize the most important points; the reader must understand from it what the article is about.
- Body: 3-5 sentence paragraphs, ~3 paragraph subheadings, guest/band quotes welcome.
- Range: report 2,500-5,000 characters, review/interview easily more — dense rather than stretched.
Staff culture
- We write politely, but lively and with heart — we are a music magazine, not an official record.
- Band names, clubs and names always checked (Bandzone/Facebook is a friend); first occurrence of a full name.
- Always state the date and place of the event — the article must last even a year from now.
- Evaluations and impressions yes, but fairly: criticism is based on what happened on the spot.
- Do not use text from AI without your own work — it will be recognized and we will return it.
How to submit a text
- Preferably a Google Doc with commenting enabled, or plain text straight into the form below.
- Without formatting "for beauty" — headings and bold are handled by the editors during typesetting.
- Add 1-2 sentences about yourself (name, what you do) to the text for the author's medallion.
- Submit the reports within 3 days of the event, so that they are still warm.
